Help Us Grow Our Space
Larger space. More light. A cozy home away from home.
We’re raising $50k to expand the Hub Room. Our plan is to create a bigger space so everyone can be cozy and warm, all year round.

FAQS AND MORE REASONS TO GIVE
How much do you need?
We’d love to raise $50K this season. Our leadership team gave generously last week, and now we have around 40K to go.
What’s the money for?
We want to expand our space to fit more folks in cold weather; to develop a stronger roster of community events; and to expand our opening hours. We’re on the path to sustainability: all those things will help us get there.
How do I Give?
You can give in many ways - online, or by check to The Village Hub, 3154 Woodside Rd, Woodside CA 94062. If you have an employer match, please activate it or let us know!
What’s your EIN?
Our EIN is 94-6033764, and, since The Woodside Village Church is our fiscal sponsor, that is the name that will appear in Benevity and other workplace systems. But your money will go to The Hub.
Help, I can’t find The Village Hub in my workplace giving system.
That’s OK. We’re a community group that has the Woodside Village Church as our fiscal sponsor. So use our EIN 94-6033764 and all money you give to the Church will come straight to us.
I’m all tapped out. I can’t give now.
Could you manage a pledge for 2019? That would be hugely helpful, and help us commit to the build out in 2019.
What are you building?
You can see renderings for our planned new space above, or just come by. We want to create a cozy space for folks in all weathers, and will be able to seat at least another 10 people. That will also help improve our sales revenue, and make us nicer AND more sustainable.
Can I fund the whole build out and get naming rights
What IS The Village Hub?
The Hub is unique. It offers a free community resource and gathering space, in a beautiful setting, in the heart of Woodside.
It invests time, energy, and dollars to develop a vibrant roster of community events, fundraisers, classes and resources. It has brought music, current affairs, great coffee, ski swaps, and all kinds of specialist classes to benefit us Woodside folks and beyond. Including a space for non-profits such as Young Dreamer Network, In The Land of my Ancestors, Living Solo, and more to come together for support.
Isn’t that part of the Church?
The Village Hub is led by a team of local volunteers, with a smattering of professional staff time (shout out to our barista and manager, Annalise). It’s a secular, community-based group. The Woodside Village Church is currently our fiscal sponsor (ie provides space and does the admin and other work needed to keep things afloat).
And Your Mission?
We aim to make Woodside a more intimate, connected, and friendly space - sharing the benefits of this wonderful town across the many kinds of folks who live and visit here.
Why do I Care?
The Hub can be your WiFi connected workspace, your place for great coffee, your pit-stop on a great bike ride. You can hang (for free) or incubate a wonderful creative program. You can hold a birthday party or a mega fundraiser. You don’t need to ride horses, buy stuff, or wear fancy lycra. You can just be you. That’s pretty cool.
How will My Gift Make a Difference?
We’re at a turning point. We’ve spent over a year making the coffee bar work, and it’s beginning to break even. We’ve overcome lots of practical barriers and have strong proof of concept. Now we’d like to expand our hours, really grow our programs and events, and develop a revenue strategy. We’ll also need to whip our infrastructure and governance into gear to make that happen.
Our estimate is that, based on current revenue and recently-approved staffing, we need at least $25K to make that happen - and at least another 25K to build a cozy, all-weather cafe space. That means we set at 50K fundraising goal for end of year 2018, of which we’ve already raised over 10K (a shout out to our leadership team: every member gave).
Every dollar you give will go towards making us more effective, sustainable, and a stronger community resource. And just remember: when you give to us, every dollar is amplified at least 5x by volunteer time, and goes right back into the local community. So think of those kids on those bouncy castles; of music floating over the still summer air; of yoga in the mornings; of great friends and great coffee, and give!
